Getting things done

soniaThe problem with tulips is that when the time comes to order them in summer, the pleasure of seeing them bloom is closer in the past than the work of planting them in fall. I found space and dug holes for 40 tulips (and 10 bonus crocuses) today, thanks to past-me's enthusiasm. Presumably future-me will enjoy their blooming, anyway.
I called Comcast yesterday because my internet bill went up. It's two years after I signed a contract, so the last of the promotional rate had expired. The internet service is reliable, so I'm willing to sign another contract for a lower rate. I had to repeatedly resist up-selling, ask to be transferred to someone else, wait on hold a few times, resist more up-selling, and finally got exactly what I wanted - another annual contract for the exact plan I have now, at a lower rate. $15/month is a good return on 15 minutes of aggravation, but it was still aggravating. Apparently it's hard to comprehend that I don't sit and watch things. Not interested in TV or movies.
I did finally install wired path lighting around my house, mostly up the driveway for clients coming to the back entrance, and a couple of lights up the front steps too. I feel like it's too lit up now, but oh well. I bought the supplies at Orchard Supply Hardware just before they announced all stores are closing, so I'm stuck with what I've got.
I bought a discounted porch light at OSH after I found out they were closing. I've been talking about replacing the motion sensor one for 10 years, because it doesn't come on when people leave at night. Sadly, the glass is cracked, but of course they're not taking returns. I might install it anyway, since it's not a terrible crack, but I want someone to help me hold things up, and talk me through messing with electrical wires, and I'm not sure who would do that at this point. Local friends can be useful.
